Privacy Policy

CurlyCorn LLC ("we," "our," or "us") makes Fake Chat Story Maker ("the App"), a tool for creating fictional chat-story videos. We built it to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains, in plain language, what we process and why.

You don't create an account, and we never ask for your email address or phone number. Instead, the App uses a device identifier to recognize your device — for example, to keep track of your subscription or credits. This identifier is derived from an identifier your phone provides to us (Apple's "identifier for vendor" on iOS, the Android ID on Android). It is specific to your device and to apps from us, it is not shared with advertisers, and it does not tell us who you are — but because it is stable, the information described below is associated with it.

The App optionally asks for a first name so the generated stories can address you by it. This is entirely optional — skip it and stories use a generic "me." If you do enter a name, it is sent with your story request as described below.

• •Premises and story edits: the story ideas you type and the fictional conversations you generate are sent to our API so the AI can write and rewrite your story. We pass them to Google's Gemini API (see below) and do not store them on our servers afterwards — your stories live on your device. We don't use them to build a profile of you.
• •The first name you optionally provide: sent with your story request so the AI can write you into the story. Leave it blank and we never receive it.
• •Device identifier: used to manage your subscription or credit balance and to prevent abuse.
• •How much you've generated: counts of stories generated and credits used, kept against your device identifier so that quotas and free credits work.
• •Purchase status: whether your device has an active subscription or remaining credits, and a record of your transactions (see "Purchases" below). We never see your payment details.

When you ask the App to write or rewrite a story, our API calls Google's Gemini API to generate the fictional conversation. Your premise, the story text, and the first name you optionally provided are shared with Google for this purpose and are processed by Google under its own terms. Google retains this content for a limited period (currently 55 days) to detect abuse of its API, and does not use it to train its general-purpose models. We only send what's needed to write the story — never your device's contacts, real messages, or photos.

Your finished videos are rendered entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers — a nice privacy win: the exported video only exists where you save or share it.

Subscriptions and credit purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives your device identifier, your purchase and subscription history, and basic device information (such as model, operating system version, and country) so that your entitlements work across app launches. Payment details (card numbers, billing addresses) are handled by Apple or Google and never reach us.

Generation requests are checked by automated content filters. Prohibited content — including sexual content involving minors, hate, harassment, and encouragement of self-harm — is filtered and forbidden. See our Terms of Service for the full content policy.

• •All traffic between the App, our API, and our providers is encrypted with HTTPS.
• •Your stories are saved locally on your device; deleting the App deletes them.
• •We don't sell your data, and we don't show third-party ads.

The only record we keep on our servers is a small ledger attached to your device identifier: your subscription status, how many stories you've generated, your remaining credits, and a record of your purchases. We don't store your premises, your stories, or the name you provide.

• •Ask us what's stored against your device identifier — we'll tell you. There isn't much, and it's listed above.
• •Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
• •Delete your stories at any time by removing them in the App or uninstalling it. They only ever existed on your device.
• •Contact us with any privacy question or concern.

One honest limit on deletion: the ledger described above is what stops the same device from claiming free credits over and over, so we can't erase it on request while it's still doing that job — deleting it would simply reset your allowance, which is the thing it exists to prevent. European law recognises this: we keep it on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse, and the right to erasure doesn't apply to data we still need for the purpose it was collected for. It stays minimal and isn't used for anything else. Reinstalling the App doesn't reset it, by design. If you think we've got this balance wrong in your case, write to us and we'll look at it properly.

Fake Chat is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
